Last month, the Transparency Coalition in Extractive Industries (TCEI) – Yemen, the national branch of the Global PWYP Coalition, launched a global campaign for contract transparency in the oil, gas, and mining industries in Yemen, which will last for several months, directly targeting the Yemeni government and companies operating in the oil, gas, and mining industries in Yemen.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Transparency Coalition called on the Yemeni government and companies operating in the oil, gas, and mining industries in Yemen to disclose the concluded contracts and publish them publicly under the slogan “The era of secret deals must end” in line with the requirements of the Transparency Initiative in the Extractive Industries and within the global campaign launched by the Publish What You Pay global coalition.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign comes as part of the Youth Engagement and Contract Transparency project implemented by the Transparency Coalition in Extractive Industries (TCEI) in cooperation, partnership, and support from the Publish What You Pay (PWYP), in addition to the Transparency Coalition’s efforts to support the EITI Transparency Initiative in Yemen. As part of the coalition’s plan to expand its membership and attract a number of active youth organizations.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign was launched by the Publish What You Pay Coalition, which includes coalitions from 55 different countries, including Yemen, which contributes to this campaign through the Transparency Coalition in Extractive Industries – Yemen, as a global campaign to pressure governments to publish oil licensing contracts.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Transparency Coalition in Extractive Industries (TCEI), the national branch of the Publish What You Pay Global Coalition (PWYP), is an independent, neutral, non-profit alliance that represents an organizational framework that unites the efforts of civic organizations, academic specialists, legal professionals, media professionals, and other activists seeking an organized contribution to the oversight of extractive industries and aims to achieve transparency in the collection of their resources, making good use of them, and ensuring the right of access to information and its freedom of circulation.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
